Emily Knapp, Co-Founder & creative Director
In over a decade working in advertising and marketing in NYC Emily Knapp helped global brands fight malaria, handcraft small batch whiskey, launch first generation technology products, and bring manufacturing at scale back to America. After spending 2016 traveling the country with her husband, Emily recently settled in San Diego where she leads creative consultancy projects at IM/MATERIAL and works as artist liaison at a local contemporary art gallery. As Creative Director Emily manages all programming and the direction of After 1920 in accordance with its mission and objectives.

Grant Knapp is a Creative Director & Strategist originally from San Diego. Upon receiving his master’s degree in Communication Design from New York’s Pratt Institute, Grant has gone on to lead creative and strategic direction for Fortune 500 clients and scrappy upstarts alike. As Managing Director Grant channels his pioneering spirit into long-term strategic planning and acts as a catalyst to realize After 1920’s sustainable growth goals.
